About Dr Ilhaam Hameed

We would like to warmly welcome Dr Ilhaam Hameed who joins Brindabella Family Practice in early May.

Dr Ilhaam Hameed obtained his MBBS degree in 2003 from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura, Sri Lanka. He became a fellow of the RACGP in 2021. Dr Hameed also works as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Queanbeyan Hospital Emergency Department.

Dr Hameed’s clinical interests include chronic disease management, paediatrics, sports injuries and skin cancers. He enjoys working within a multidisciplinary team to improve patient care, and working with patients to develop their management plans.

He is a strong believer in the patient-centered care model and is a compassionate listener, whose goal is to provide thorough care and help patients understand their healthcare needs.

Outside of his clinical time, Dr Hameed has an interest in travelling, gardening, cooking and spending time with his family. Dr. Hameed is also fluent in Tamil and sinhalese.

Dr Hameed is available for appointments from Monday to Thursday.
