About Dr David Poland

Dr Poland graduated from the University of NSW. He has extensive general practitioner experience – including rural and remote medicine. His particular areas of interest are paediatrics, sports medicine, and travel medicine. Additionally, Dr Poland has been a Visiting Medical Officer at the Queanbeyan District Hospital, attending inpatients, the operating theatre and Accident & Emergency.

David has worked in the remote Central Australian community of Kintore 540 km west of Alice Springs and voluntarily overseas in the southern Highlands of PNG. He strongly believes that a healthy planet is fundamentally required for a healthy population and introduced recycling measures whenever possible in the practice. He commutes on his bicycle to work most days and has a strong interest in sports and outdoor pursuits. He has worked and lived in the region since 1982.
