About Dr Ingrid Kensey
Ingrid grew up in the Southern Highlands of NSW and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney majoring in History and English Literature. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the ANU graduating in 2014. Completing her training in hospitals in the Canberra and Bega regions, and particularly enjoyed a placement in a remote provincial hospital on Malaita in the Solomon Islands. Ingrid entered General Practice training in 2017 before taking 12 months maternity leave in 2017/2018. She has a National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health from FPAA and is undertaking the University of Sydney/Westmead Hospital's Diploma of Child Health.
Ingrid has a particular interest in mental health and all aspects of women's health including perinatal care, lactation medicine, menopause, sexual health and family planning. She also enjoys dermatology and skin procedures. Ingrid has a long term interest in pursuing further specialist qualifications in palliative medicine with the aim of providing pastoral community-based palliative care. She also assists Obstetric and Gynaecological surgeons privately at Calvary John James Hospital once a month.
In her spare time, she loves baking sourdough bread, knitting, bush-walking and being a member of the L'Arche Geneserat community.
